Meerut, March 16 (HS). District Magistrate Deepak Meena held a meeting with representatives of political parties on Saturday evening and gave them election related information. Along with this, he was asked to follow the Model Code of Conduct.
A meeting with representatives of political parties was held under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate in the Collectorate Auditorium on Saturday. In the meeting, representatives of political parties were given information about campaign materials, vehicle passes, check posts, polling booths, webcasting, flying scouts, rate lists, permissions for activities like rallies, public meetings, processions etc.
He informed that a counting center has been set up in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology. After voting, EVM and VVPAT machines will be kept in the counting centre. Action will be taken only as per the instructions given by the Election Commission. The District Magistrate said that the Suvidha portal is operated by the Election Commission of India through which one can apply for information and permission.
He told that polling parties will leave from Victoria Park to conduct voting. On this occasion, SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan, CDO Nupur Goyal, Joint Magistrate Shruti Sharma, Joint Magistrate Gamini Singla, Additional District Magistrate Administration Balram Singh, Additional District Magistrate Nagar Brijesh Singh, City Magistrate Anil Kumar, District Information Officer Sumit Kumar etc. were present.
