District Magistrate celebrated the festival of Diwali with the elderly people in the old age home.

On Wednesday, on the auspicious festival of Deepotsav, District Magistrate Ramesh Ranjan reached out to the elderly and celebrated the festival of Diwali with the elderly in the residential old age home on Banna Road, Tundla, which is operated on the grant of the Social Welfare Department. The District Magistrate, along with old age home inmates Parvati Devi, Resham Devi and others, performed Diwali puja by lighting lamps.

While wishing Diwali and Bhaiya Dooj, the District Magistrate wished them to remain healthy forever and sought the blessings of the elderly parents for the district and the society and also sought information from the inmates residing in the old age home about their well being and the basic facilities available in the old age home. Apart from this, the District Magistrate honored the inmates by garlanding them, distributed sweets and fruits and presented shawls as gifts.

During the program in the old age home, bhajan was recited by resident Omprakash and poets Dr. Chetanbihari Saxena and Dilip Gaud presented beautiful poems. At the end of the program, the elders celebrated the festival of lights by lighting sparklers and pomegranates.
