Saharsa, 24 September (HS). The quarterly meeting of the District Level Review and Advisory Committee of banks was held in the conference hall of the Collectorate building on Tuesday under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Vaibhav Chaudhary.
The main points discussed in the review were that the district's credit deposit ratio is 67.46%. All banks were advised to increase the said ratio to more than 70% in the next review. Till the June quarter, the district's achievement against the target in the annual credit plan has been 19.20%.
The chairman said that the success of government schemes mainly depends on the public sector banks. Therefore, there should be proper liberality in financing the schemes, especially the schemes related to agriculture and MSME sector should be financed on time because the economy of this district is mostly based on these sectors.
He said that pending applications should be disposed of as soon as possible so that expected progress can be made in the deposit ratio and the beneficiaries can carry forward their business activities. He also asked for a meeting of various departments and banks to review the updated status of the applications.
He directed that keeping in view the annual target of PMGEP, PMEGP scheme, the progress of sanctioning loans should be increased. The chairman laid special emphasis on achieving the target in the same Jeevika scheme. For the development of agriculture based infrastructure, he urged the banks to provide finance in the AIF scheme of NABARD. District Lead Bank Manager Mohd Arshad Hussain asked the district coordinators of various banks present to complete the execution and disbursement of the applications received for PMEGP, Mudra, Swanidhi, Jeevika, PMFME etc. schemes. Regional Manager North Bihar Gramin Bank Manager Ajit Jha, District Lead Bank Manager Mohd Arshad Hussain, DDM NABARD, representative, Reserve Bank of India, District Coordinators of various banks, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, District Industries Center, Municipal Council, Cooperative Department officials, Director R Setty were present in this meeting.
