Kishanganj, 10 September (HS). The District Inspection Committee under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Tushar Singla inspected the safe place located in Juljuli on Tuesday. Safe place is an institution established for housing children involved in legal disputes who are named or found guilty in heinous crimes under the Juvenile Justice Act 2015. These children are housed for care and protection on the orders of the Juvenile Justice Council and other courts and are released on their orders.
During the inspection, DM Tushar Singla talked to all the teenagers. He inquired about the arrangements for food, accommodation, entertainment etc. He asked the teenagers in which case they are nominated and asked all of them to focus on studies and skill development to improve their lives so that they do not commit any mistake again after release. He directed Assistant Director, District Child Protection Unit, Ravi Shankar Tiwari to get the various rooms of the home repaired and painted.
He instructed the present Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajesh Kumar to regularly check the health of the resident teenagers. He expressed satisfaction over the sports and skill development program of the institute, and was especially happy to see the new table tennis table. Social worker Vipin Bihari, Superintendent Prakash Gupta and others were present during the inspection.
