Prayagraj, 20 August (HS). Allahabad High Court has directed the District Development Officer Ghaziabad to appear in the court on 22 August. The court said that presenting the government order with alterations is prima facie contempt of court and continuous cheating on the court.

The court has directed the Registrar (Compliance) to immediately inform the District Development Officer through the Chief Judicial Magistrate Ghaziabad about this order. This order was given by Justice JJ Munir while hearing the petition of Avinash Chand Gupta and others.

The petitioners were working in the accounts section of the Rural Development Department, Ghaziabad. They have filed a petition demanding revision of pay scale and payment of outstanding retirement benefits. Pragya Shrivastava, District Development Officer, Ghaziabad, filed a copy of the government order dated 11 August 1983 in the court. This copy is a schedule related to the eligibility for promotion in the accounts cadre. This seems to be a deliberate attempt to mislead the court. This has been done to deprive the petitioners of the benefits. It mentions the eligibility for promotion from account clerk to assistant accountant post.
