Ranchi, 15 November (Hindu). Ranchi Police raided Sarala Birla School and Sarala Birla University located in Mahilong of Tatisilve police station area on Friday. The police did not find anything from there during the raid.
According to the information, the police team had reached there on the information of illegal keeping of cash in both the educational institutions. The team along with a large number of security forces, DSP and several police station officers reached Sarala Birla School and University located in Mahilong at 6.30 in the morning. Institutions were closed on account of Guru Purnima. But some people from the school management were present for office work. Security forces sealed all the main gates and prevented anyone from coming in. After about five hours of investigation, the police team returned empty handed. The officials involved in the team refused to tell anything. The team included DSP Headquarters Pratham Amar Kumar Pandey, Sadar DSP Sanjeev Besra, Kotwali and City DSP, apart from Tatisilve Police Station Officer Manoj Kumar, Namkum Police Station Officer Brahmadev Prasad, Kharsidag OP in-charge Bhavesh Kumar along with Kotwali, Sukhdevnagar, Lower Bazaar Police Station Officers.
On the other hand, the district administration team raided Sarala Birla School and University. The personnel and administrative head of both the institutes is Rajya Sabha MP cum State General Secretary Dr. Pradeep Verma. However, Dr. Pradeep Verma was not present on the spot during the raid as he was out. Since morning, rumors were being spread about raids at both the institutes and Verma’s residence, but the team has not raided the residence located near the school.
Usha Martin University raided, nothing found
A four-hour raid was conducted at Usha Martin University on Friday by the Angada district administration of Ranchi. This action was taken on the information that crores of rupees were kept here for illegal expenditure in the assembly elections. In this action taken under the leadership of Silli and Sadar DSP and Ormanjhi Inspector Anil Kumar Tiwari and Angada police station in-charge Hiralal Sah along with the magistrate appointed by the state government, no illegal amount was found in the institute. The raid caused a lot of trouble to the students, staff and players of the institute playing Ranji matches. During the raid, no one was allowed to enter or leave the institute. Hundreds of district police personnel were deployed on the spot. Dr. Vinay Kumar Singh, COE of Usha Martin University, said that during the raid by the administration, no evidence was found related to any illegal activity in the institute.
