Prayagraj, July 30 (HS). In view of the grandeur of Maha Kumbh 2025 and to increase tourism in Prayagraj, efforts are being made to develop CAT 3 and night landing facilities at the civil airport. Under which, in a video conferencing held today between senior officials of Air Force, Airport Authority of India and Mela Administration, the proposal given by the Mela Administration to equip Prayagraj Civil Airport with CAT 3 facilities and develop night landing facilities there was discussed.
In view of the expected crowd of devotees coming to Maha Kumbh, senior officers of the Air Force have instructed the concerned officials to conduct an OLS survey to make both the facilities available here. Under this, a feasibility study will be conducted by the end of August to see whether both the facilities can be made available here or not. If everything is found to be correct, further discussions will be held to develop CAT 3 and Nightlandic facilities.
In this sequence, senior Air Force officials have also instructed to run the Air Traffic Control 24×7 for about one and a half months during the Maha Kumbh Mela. Along with this, the concerned officials of the Airport Authority of India and the Ministry of Civil Aviation have been asked to talk to all the airlines and get information about the number of their flights that can be increased during the Maha Kumbh, and ensure that during the Maha Kumbh, all airlines prepare their pilots mentally to fly the planes even in difficult conditions if required.
