Discussion on gender equality with teachers and girls

Mirzapur, 08 August (HS). An awareness program was organized in Government Girls Inter College Vindhyachal on Thursday under the action plan set by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The chief guest was Additional District Judge and Secretary of Legal Services Authority Vinay Arya. The chief guest discussed gender equality on the basis of the weekly theme set by the Government of India and informed the teachers and girls about women's legal protection.

While making the girls aware of their rights, he said that all of you are equal and education is your biggest ally, which gives you the power to take decisions in every difficult situation. Center manager Pooja Maurya told the girls in detail about the functioning of One Stop Center and Child Line. She gave information about various schemes run by the department, namely, Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana, Chief Minister Bal Seva Yojana, Sponsorship Scheme, Mahila Nirashrit Pension Yojana and sexual harassment of women.

Social worker Nagina Singh explained in detail about the working system of Child Welfare Committee and Juvenile Justice Board. Both of them work for children. Also, AHTU in-charge Rampal Mishra from the police department explained the difference between human trafficking, child marriage and child labour and gave tips to girls to stay alert and vigilant. During this, college teachers Sunita Kushwaha, Pratima Singh, Pushpa Devi, Chanda Gautam, Chitralekha Tripathi, Alka Rathore, Vibha Singh, Maya Srivastava and lady constable, Deepak Babu etc. were present.
