Lucknow: Not only in Uttar Pradesh BJP but also in Delhi, discontent against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came to the fore when the Nazul Bill was introduced in the Legislative Council on Thursday. Not only the opposition, BJP and Union Minister Anupriya Patel are also opposing this bill. However, political experts believe that the BJP high command is fuelling discontent within the party against Yogi Adityanath through Anupriya Patel. Therefore, its outbreak is likely to spread to Uttar Pradesh in the near future.

The Yogi government introduced the Nazul Bill 2024 in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and got it passed by voice vote amid heavy noise. After this, on Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya introduced this bill in the Legislative Council. But the opposition as well as some BJP MLAs opposed this bill, so the bill has been sent to the executive committee instead of being passed in the upper house. This is perhaps the first time in the Yogi government that a bill could not be passed in the Legislative Council despite being passed in the Legislative Assembly.

Political experts believe that this bill of the Yogi government has now gone too far. Many BJP leaders opposed this bill related to property. NDA ally Nishad Party, Union Minister and National President of Apna Dal Anupriya Patel also opposed the bill. After the bill was sent to the Select Committee, she wrote on X that the Nazul Land Bill introduced without extensive discussion is not only unnecessary but also against the sentiments of the general public. The state government should immediately withdraw this bill and take action against the officials who misled the government.

On Thursday, in the Legislative Council, BJP state president and MLC Bhupendra Chaudhary opposed the Nazul land bill and requested to send it to the Select Committee. Other BJP MLAs also opposed the bill. The Yogi government believes that Nazul land should be used for public purposes. Therefore, instead of giving such lands to any person or institution, the government should use them for social welfare.

However, political experts believe that through this bill, discontent against the Yogi government has come to the fore in the Uttar Pradesh BJP. Apart from this, the high command from Delhi is also heating up the atmosphere against Yogi Adityanath. At such a time, the Nazul bill has become a problem for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
