Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty will be honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian cinema. The award will be presented to the actor during the 70th National Film Awards ceremony on October 8, 2024. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced to honor the actor.

Mithun's son's reaction

Mithun's son Namashi Chakraborty has expressed happiness over his father receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. While talking to Aaj Tak, he said- I am feeling very proud and honoured. My father is a self-made superstar and a great citizen. His life journey has been inspirational for many people. We all are very happy with this honor he received.

Received National Award for the very first film

Mithun's journey in the film industry has been inspiring. He has entertained fans by giving many superhit films in his career. Born in Kolkata, Mithun is an actor, producer and politician by profession. The actor has worked in more than 350 films. These include Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Bhojpuri, Telugu, Kannada, Punjabi films.
