Ranchi, July 04 (HS). The court of Special Judge of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) Rajiv Ranjan on Thursday rejected the discharge petition of Talha Khan, accused in the 4.55 acre Army-occupied land scam case in Bariatu, Ranchi. The court had reserved the order after the hearing on the petition was completed on July 1. The accused had filed a discharge petition on May 20, claiming himself innocent in the case.
It is noteworthy that the discharge petition of other accused Dilip Ghosh, Bhanu Pratap Prasad, Afsar Ali and Amit Aggarwal in the case was already rejected by the PMLA court. Talha Khan was arrested by the ED on April 13, 2023. Since then he is in jail. In this case, the ED raided the hideouts of several land dealers including suspended IAS Chhavi Ranjan, suspended Deputy Revenue Personnel Bhanu Pratap Prasad on 13 and 14 April 2023. In the case, several land dealers including suspended IAS Chhavi Ranjan, suspended Deputy Revenue Personnel Bhanu Pratap Prasad are in jail.
