Prayagraj, 04 March (HS). Allahabad High Court has directed Director Local Bodies UP Lucknow Nitin Bansal and Principal Secretary Urban Development UP Lucknow Amrit Abhijat to comply with the order passed on 28 April 23 or appear with clarification within a month.
The court has asked both the officers to show reasons why they should not be punished on contempt charges in case they do not follow the order. The next hearing of the petition will be on April 8. Justice Dinesh Pathak has given this order on the contempt petition of Vinay Kumar Saxena.
It is known that the petitioner from Bareilly district had retired from the post of Junior Engineer in Bisalpur Municipal Council of Badaun district in the year 2020. He was appointed on an ad-hoc basis with effect from 7 March 1995. Service regularization was done on 3 November 2015. Demanded to add their ad-hoc services for pension benefits. The court ordered the opposition to take a decision within four months. If this was not followed, a contempt petition was filed. The government lawyer said that a special appeal has been filed against the order.
On this the court said that mere filing of appeal does not automatically postpone the order. It is mandatory to follow the order till it is banned. On this, the court has directed to follow the order within a month or to appear before it and give reasons why it should not be punished on the charge of contempt.
