Mumbai: A magistrate court has sentenced famous Bollywood actor Dilip Tahil to two months' simple imprisonment in a five-year-old drink and drive case, in which Dilip Tahil hit an auto rickshaw while driving under the influence of alcohol in 2018. Two people including a woman were injured.
After this incident, the court sentenced Tahil on the basis of the medical report shared by an expert doctor. The court accepted the medical report submitted by the doctor to the court and sentenced Dilip Tahil. According to the report submitted by the doctor in this regard, actor Dilip Tahil was drunk while driving the car and was not able to drive properly. Apart from this, the smell of alcohol was coming from his mouth and the actor's eyes were also dilated. Keeping all these things in mind, Rakhi Magistrate found actor Dalip Tahil guilty and sentenced him to two months in jail.
This incident took place in Paran Khar, Mumbai in 2018. Tahil was driving under the influence of alcohol and hit a rickshaw from behind. Jenita Gandhi (age 21) and Gaurav Chugh, residents of Khar, were injured in this accident. The incident happened around 9 pm. When Tahil's car collided with the rickshaw, Jenita, who was traveling in the rickshaw, suffered serious injuries on her back and neck. After the incident, Jenita Gandhi and Chugh got down from the auto rickshaw and saw that Tahil's car was trying to run away towards Santa Cruz. Dalip Tahil allegedly tried to run away from the spot. But as he failed to avoid the traffic jam caused by Ganesh Visharan, the police took further action by registering a case against Dilip Tahil for causing hurt by rash driving and under sections of the Motor Vehicles Act like drunken driving.
