Tanda Urmud: Recently, the Chief Minister of the state Bhagwant Mann had issued instructions to senior officers to take strict action against careless officers. Under these instructions of the Punjab government, DIG Jalandhar Range Harmanbir Singh Gill raided the Tanda police station under district Hoshiarpur at around 7:30 am on Tuesday morning. The main purpose of this sudden visit was to ensure compliance with the duty protocol of Punjab Police. During this visit of the DIG, it was found that only the assistant clerk was present in the police station without weapons.
The roll call scheduled for 8 am was not implemented by the police station, which is a direct violation of the instructions of senior officers. SHO Thana Tanda Raman Kumar and DSP Tanda Harjeet Singh Randhawa were also sleeping in their residence. The rest of the police force reached the police station between 9 am and 9:15 am. During the visit, the DIG was present in the police station for one hour and 45 minutes. During this time he found lack of security in the police station. Due to negligence in duty and lack of supervision of DSP, Tanda Thanedaar Sub Inspector Raman Kumar has been suspended and sent to the police line.
