canada news : It has become difficult for Punjabi students to go to Canada. On one hand, the Canadian government is tightening the visa rules and on the other hand it is also increasing the fees. The Government of Canada has increased the fees again from December 1st. The direct burden of the increase in fees by the Canadian government will fall on the students there and those holding work permits. Study visa experts say that the fee increase will have a direct impact on students going to Canada from Punjab. Earlier, the people of Punjab used to pay these fees with great difficulty because the one year education and other expenses of going to Canada have reached Rs 25 to 30 lakh.
In fact, since December 1, various types of application and processing fees for visitors, workers and students coming to Canada have increased. Its biggest impact will be on those people of Punjab who are studying in Canada or working in any organization. The Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) in Canada has increased the fees for many applications for temporary residents.
These include temporary resident status applications (for visitors, workers and students), applications for authorization to return to Canada, criminal rehabilitation applications (including serious crimes) and reinstatement of a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) application. It is believed that this will have the biggest impact on the youth of Punjabi origin.
Current fees (in Canadian dollars) are as follows.
Restoration of visitor status $229.00
Restoration of Student Status $379.00
Restoration of Labor Status $384.00
Right to return to Canada $459.55
Criminal Disqualification $229.77
Serious Criminal Disqualification $1,148.87
Temporary Resident Permit $229.77
Canada’s IRCC has not yet updated the new fee but said it has been extended as of Dec. 1. Canadian immigration experts say that Canada is taking such steps every day, which is having the biggest impact on the youth of Punjab. According to government data, 319,130 Indian students will study in the year 2023. On the other hand, government data also shows that 807,750 international students have been granted study visas in the year 2023.
