New Delhi, 17 October (Hindustan Reporter). India said that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, on the one hand, supports the One India policy, while on the other hand, he does not take any action against anti-India elements despite our requests. This clearly shows the difference between their words and actions.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said at the weekly press conference on Thursday that 26 extradition requests have been pending with Canada over the last decade. Apart from this, demands for some arrests are also pending. So far no action has been taken by the Government of Canada on our requests. The prominent names among them are Gurjit Singh, Gurjinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Lakhbir Singh and Arshdeep Singh. He said that India has shared security related information with Canada on several occasions. It also contains information about members of Lawrence Bishnoi gang but the Canadian government did not take any action on our requests.
The spokesperson expressed surprise that the people against whom extradition and action had been sought were now being accused by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police of India for crimes committed there. He said that the Canadian government has been continuously accusing India since September 2023 but till now no concrete evidence has been provided by it. We also saw in the public hearing held yesterday that Prime Minister Trudeau admitted that there is no concrete evidence to prove his allegations. We refute the false allegations leveled against the Indian Ambassador. The spokesperson said that India had recalled its High Commissioner and other diplomats even before Canada expelled them. Due to some reasons we cannot make the names of these diplomats public.
