Amidst the ongoing student agitation across the country over the NEET paper leak issue and the National Testing Agency (NTA), a claim is being spread rapidly on social media that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned from his post. It is being said in some posts and messages that under the pressure of the ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar, hunger strike and demands of various organizations, he has submitted his resignation letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Government and PIB rejected the rumor of resignation
Official sources and PIB Fact Check have completely refuted all such statements and viral messages. The government has clarified that Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has not resigned from his post. Many fabricated statements, names of fictitious organizations and false claims have been added to the statements and text messages circulating on social media, which have nothing to do with reality.
Government’s emphasis on improving the examination system and strict laws
The central government clearly says that instead of the minister leaving his post, the priority is to make the examination system completely transparent and secure. The government is continuously working towards restructuring of NTA, implementing stringent anti-paper leak law (Public Examinations Bill) and taking strict legal action against the land mafia and coaching syndicates involved in rigging.
