Gandhinagar: Dushyeti festival was celebrated with great pomp in the state. But the celebration of Dhutheti festival in the state has turned deadly. A total of 10 people have died in seven separate incidents of drowning in the state. Two people died in Banaskantha, one in Mahisagar and three in Bhavnagar. Whereas three students have died due to drowning in Gomti Lake in Vadtal of Kheda. Two youths have drowned in Gandhinagar, the body of one of them has been found.

Two youths died due to drowning in Balram river

There is a sad news amid Dhuteti celebrations in Banaskantha district. Two youths have died due to drowning in Balram river. The primary belief is that the youth came to bathe in the river to celebrate the festival of dust.
It has been learned that both the deceased Mehul Panchal and Rohit Prajapati are residents of Disa taluk. Local people took out the bodies of both the youths. Palanpur Taluka police reached the spot and conducted further investigation.

Three died due to drowning in Gomti Lake

A group of 12 students came from MV Patel College, Vidyanagar. Out of which five students went to take bath in the Gomti pond situated on the banks of the field. In which three students died due to drowning. Two students were saved. After informing the Nadiad fire department about the incident, a team immediately reached there. The bodies of the students have been recovered.

Three people died in Bhavnagar

Three youth drowned in the check dam in Bakhal area of ​​Manar village of Bhavnagar Talaja taluka. Mukesh Makwana, Ravi Makwana and Ravi Kudecha died due to drowning. This accident happened during drowning in the check dam on the occasion of Dhuleti. There is mourning in the family of the deceased regarding the incident. The body was taken out of the check dam by the fire department and taken to Talaja Government Hospital. A wave of mourning has returned in Bhavnagar due to the drowning death of three youths simultaneously on this festival of colours.

5 people have drowned in different areas of Kalol taluka of Gandhinagar district. There are reports of people drowning in various canals of Kalol taluka. Kalol Fire Department found bodies of 2 out of 5 people during the search. Postmortem of 2 bodies has been done at Kalol Civil Hospital. The bodies of 16-year-old Tarun Ishwar Bhai Chauhan of Kalol and 28-year-old Ashok Bhai Sen of Ramnagar were found.
