The Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in America and West Indies is going to be announced soon. At present the big question is which two wicketkeepers will be selected for this mega event of ICC.
Several Indian wicketkeepers are performing well in IPL 2024, including the experienced Dinesh Karthik and MS Dhoni along with youngsters Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant.
Recently, during a podcast, when Australia's legendary wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist asked Rohit Sharma about Dhoni and Karthik for the T20 World Cup, the Indian captain said, it will be easy to convince Dinesh Karthik, but it will be difficult to convince Dhoni.
On Club Prairie Fire Podcast, Rohit Sharma said, “I am especially impressed with Dinesh, the way he has batted recently. Dhoni also came to play 4 balls and made an impact by scoring 20 runs. Meanwhile, he also made a hat-trick of sixes.
The Indian captain further said, “I think it will definitely be difficult to convince MSD to come to West Indies. He is sick and tired. However, he is definitely coming to America for some other work. He is interested in golf.” So I think if he plays golf, I think it will be easy to convince DK.”
Rohit Sharma said about Rishabh Pant, “To be honest, all these youngsters are absolutely crazy. If anyone makes me laugh it is Rishabh Pant. I have been watching him since childhood. He is a mad man.”
Apart from this, Dinesh Karthik is also in strong form. While chasing 287 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he scored 83 runs in 35 balls with the help of 5 fours and 7 sixes. However, he could not lead the team to victory.
