Dhoni allows players to make mistakes while Rohit… Harbhajan Singh explains the difference in their captaincy | News India

Harbhajan Singh: The Indian cricket team has won the World Cup title under the leadership of three captains so far. These include Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma. Cricket fans are discussing the captaincy of MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma on social media.

Regarding this debate, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh believes that MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma are both different types of captains. Who have their own special characteristics. He said, 'MS Dhoni gives the players a chance to learn from their mistakes, while Rohit Sharma interacts with the players and gives them confidence.'

Harbhajan recalled an incident related to IPL in the podcast and said, 'When I was playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL. During a match, Kane Williamson hit two consecutive fours off Shardul Thakur's ball. Then I advised Dhoni to bowl a different length to Shardul. To which Dhoni replied that paaji, if I tell him, he will never learn. Let him learn himself. Dhoni believed that players learn quickly from their mistakes.'

About Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan said that he is very different. Rohit meets every player separately and talks to them and assures them that they can do their job well. The biggest turning point for Rohit as a great captain came when he started captaining in Test cricket. Because in Test cricket, the captain has to make strategy more carefully and this is the reason why Rohit's captaincy has improved. Just like Shane Warne used to go to every player and explain his role, in the same way Rohit Sharma also talks to the players of the team and motivates them.
