Bhopal, June 10 (HS). On the orders of the Indore Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court, the survey of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) department continued for the 81st day on Monday at the historic Bhojshala of Dhar. A team of 15 ASI officials along with 34 workers reached the Bhojshala premises at 8 am and came out at 5 pm. Here the team worked for about nine hours using modern equipment in a scientific manner. Gopal Sharma, Ashish Goyal of the Hindu side and Abdul Samad Khan of the Muslim side were also present with the survey team.
On the 81st day of the ASI survey, conducted on the lines of Gyanvapi, the survey began at seven new places in the sanctum sanctorum of Bhojshala. Seven new very ancient remains have been found in it, including a broken statue of about two feet. Remains of inscriptions are also present in these 7 remains. The Hindu side has claimed that the broken statue is of Lord Brahma, who is seated with his entire family. On another relic, a tortoise is seated on a lotus flower, which is considered to be the symbol of Lakshmi. During the survey, soil was removed at the place of circumambulation of the Yagya Kund on Monday. The drains on both sides of the gate of Bhojshala have also been cleaned, while all the trenches of north-south and west have been filled and closed.
Earlier on Sunday, the ASI team had found 79 antiquities during the survey, which were also cleaned on Monday. Hindu parties Gopal Sharma and Ashish Goyal, who were present with the survey team, said that the 79 relics found on Sunday also include idols of Lord Ganesha, Mahishasura Mardini, Maa Parvati, Lord Hanuman and Bhairavnath. These idols were recovered from the excavation in the room inside Bhojshala. The idols of Lord Ganesha and Maa Vagdevi are broken in this room.
He told that on Monday, ASI conducted a survey in Bhojshala. During this, seven more antiquities were found inside in the northern part. Now these will also be cleaned. From morning to evening, survey was done at many new places in the sanctum sanctorum. Excavation was also done in the circumambulatory area of the Yagya Kund complex and near the eastern part i.e. the entrance.
Muslim party Abdul Samad Khan said that today the labelling work of all the trenches in the north and west has been completed. There were some issues of spots of Wazukhana and water tank inside the monument, work was done to mark them, digging was also done, which has been added by the team. He said that yesterday some things were found, today they were numbered and photography-videography was done. Two huts were built near the main gate of the monument, they were also thoroughly examined. Taking objection to the remains of Hindu gods and goddesses found in the Bhojshala complex, he said that these were placed after the year 2003. Our demand from the beginning is that things after the year 2003 should not be included in the survey.
It is worth noting that the ASI survey in Bhojshala was started from March 22. On Monday, 81 days of the survey have been completed. During this period, 1607 remains have been found so far. Pillar stones are mainly found in it. 86 remains were found in the survey conducted on both days on Sunday and Monday. ASI has to submit its survey report by July 4 at any cost on the orders of the Indore Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court. For this, the expert team is preparing documents on the basis of the survey conducted every day. In this, details about the remains are being prepared on the basis of drawings along with videography and photography. The survey deadline is June 27. The report has to be submitted by July 4, within a week of the completion of the survey, so now the ASI is focusing on preparing the report.
