Dhar: ASI survey continues for 26th day in historic Bhojshala

Dhar, 16 April (HS). On the orders of the Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court, the survey of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) department in the historical Bhojshala of Dhar continued for the 26th day on Tuesday. A team of 11 officers from Delhi and Bhopal along with 28 workers reached the Bhojshala premises at 6 am and came out at 12 noon. During this, Gopal Sharma, Ashish Goyal from the Hindu side and Abdul Samad Khan from the Muslim side were also present with the survey team.

On the 26th of the ASI survey, survey work continued at three sites towards the rear of the Bhojshala complex. At the same time, on Tuesday, puja and Hanuman Chalisa was recited by Hindu organizations in the Bhojshala premises. However, Havan puja was not performed in the Havan Kund because a survey was being conducted here on Monday and the Havan Kund was cleaned on Tuesday.

Muslim party Abdul Samad, who was present with the survey team, while talking to the media after coming out, said that during the excavation in the Bhojshala premises on Monday, the statue of Gautam Buddha was found, but the ASI officials did not tell him whose statue it was. He said that we will register this objection in writing.

The Muslim party said that we will lodge a written objection that we were not given information about this statue and it has been kept aside. Samad says that the idol of Gautam Buddha was found during the excavation on Monday at around 12:30 pm. Its size was about one by one and a half feet. When we saw the statue of Maharaja Gautam Buddha and asked the officials on this subject, their reply was that you will be given information tomorrow after asking the senior officials, but even today no information has been given about that statue.

At the same time, Hindu party Ashish Goyal said that the survey being done is being done using scientific method. Will be on all parameters. He said that the ASI survey is going on in the presence of both the parties. Whatever happens in the Bhojshala premises, its photography and videography is done in the presence of both the parties. After that it is cleaned and brushed and kept safe.

Goyal said that all the work is being done as per the instructions of the High Court. Our demand is that whatever repairs, excavations or maintenance have been done to the east of the Bhojshala from the entrance towards the north, whatever pillars, pillar bases and figures are inside it, all of them should also be surveyed. Be included. Also, such remains are kept inside also, they should also be included in the survey.
