Dhamtari, 6 May (HIST). A joint team of Arjuni Police and Cyber Cell caught two accused from Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh who were smuggling ganja in a Jupiter scooter. When Jupiter was searched, 16.410 kg of ganja was seized from the possession of the accused. Both the accused have been arrested and sent on judicial remand on Monday.
According to the information received from the police, on the basis of information, the police team of Arjuni police station and cyber cell set up a blockade near village Bhoyna-Dhamtari road bridge. The suspicious Jupiter scooter mentioned by the informer was stopped and investigated. A total of 16.41 kg of ganja was seized from the accused Arjun, 24 years old, son of Kanhaiya Lal, 24 years old, and Deepak Kumar Bind, 24 years old, residents of village Semri police station Vidhyanchal district Mirzapur (Uttar Pradesh), who were riding on a scooter. On Monday, both the accused were sent on judicial remand. Ganja was being brought from Odisha. There were preparations to take it to Uttar Pradesh via Raipur. Cyber cell in-charge Inspector Sunny Dubey, Head Constable Devendra Rajput, Lokesh Netam, Constable Krishna Patil, Yuvraj Thakur, Yogesh Dhruv, Yogesh Nag, Birendra Sonkar, Anand Katkwar, Mukesh Mishra, Deepak Sahu, Manoj Sahu, Vikas Dwivedi, Phaneesh were involved in the action.
