Dhamtari district library could not be updated in eleven years

Dhamtari, April 8 (HS). A district library was established by the government 11 years ago for the boys and girls preparing for competitive examinations, which has not been updated till now. There are no proper chairs to sit here for the young men and women who come to prepare for competitive exams. There are not enough books, hence a crowd of angry young men and women reached the Collectorate complaining. A memorandum has been submitted to the Collector demanding to provide the facility soon.

Gaurav Sonkar, Devesh Joshi, Nirmal Kumar, Vikas, Pankaj Kumar, Lalit Kumar, Avinash Dewangan, Trilok Dewangan, Gayatri Meshram, Kiran Rajput, Khumeshwari Sinha etc., who were preparing for the competitive examination in the district library operated near the PWD Rest House, on April 8. Reached the Collectorate.

By submitting a memorandum to the Collector and making allegations, they have said that all of them are regular students of the District Library, where they are preparing for various competitive examinations by reading books. There are not enough facilities in the district library for these young men and women. There is a lot of chaos. The district administration has built a district library by spending lakhs of rupees, but even after years of construction, adequate basic facilities are not available here. There are broken chairs here, in which they are forced to sit. Till now it has not been made a convenient library. There is a shortage of books here. Some are preparing for UPSC exam and some are busy preparing for CG PSC Mains exam to be held in the month of June. There is a shortage of essential books in the library. Due to lack of adequate seating arrangements, the participants are facing a lot of problems.

There is no regular cleaning here, due to which there is an atmosphere of filth in the library. Youth preparing for Vyapam, IIT, NEET exams come to study in the district library. Currently engaged in preparation for the ongoing university exams. There is a plastic chair here, in which many youths complain of back pain due to sitting for hours and studying. In such a situation, a demand has been made to the district administration to provide comfortable chairs here. There has also been a demand to make proper arrangements for water and electricity. The windows have been closed, there is a demand to open them. In the scorching heat, due to humidity, fresh air is not available and suffocation occurs. There is no arrangement for cooler here, due to which one remains restless due to heat and humidity. Every day more than 200 young men and women come here to prepare for competitive exams. In such a situation, the young men and women have demanded to provide adequate basic facilities here. After hearing the problem, the responsible officer in the Collectorate has assured to make proper arrangements.
