Dhamtari, 14 March (Hindustan Reporter). The district administration has formed Bharatmata Vahini in the identified villages of the district for de-addiction, but the women associated with the Vahini have not received any kind of support including musical instruments. At their level, women are running de-addiction campaigns in the villages. They lack musical instruments to hold rallies and create public awareness in the village. Women associated with Bharatmata Vahini are reaching the Collectorate demanding musical instruments.
Women of Gram Panchayat Barna, Lalita Sahu, Purain Bai Yadav, Rajmat Bai, Budhantin Bai Patel, Rooplal Nirmalkar reached the Collectorate on 14 March. The women told that they are associated with Bharatmata Vahini for drug de-addiction campaign in the village, but they lack the instruments to hold a rally in the village against drug addiction and create public awareness. At present, rallies are generally taken out against alcohol, cigarettes and other intoxicants. If these women get musical instruments and financial support from the government and administration, then they will work in a better way for de-addiction. Women have said that if the government and administration should provide sarees, belts and dress code to the women associated with Bharatmata Vahini, then they should organize rallies with music from time to time in the village to make the villagers aware about drug addiction.
There is no illegal sale of liquor in village Barna. Some people are associated with drug addiction, to help such people stay away from drug addiction, women are continuously working against drug addiction. Rural women have demanded immediate cooperation from the government. Bharatmata Vahini has been formed in the panchayats identified by the government to create drug-free villages. More than 30 Bharatmata Vahini have been formed in the district. In this way, more than two thousand Bharatmata Vahini are active across the state, which are working hard to make people's homes, families and villages drug free by taking out rallies in the village streets.
Bharat Mata Vahini has been formed in the entire state including Dhamtari to make people aware about the ill effects of addiction and to stop the tendency of addiction, but till now they have not been given musical instruments. At the same time, no financial help is being provided to organize the drug de-addiction rally. In such a situation, women themselves have to reach the Collectorate and plead.
