Dehradun, 29 July (HS). Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has directed all the District Magistrates to hold a meeting with the freedom fighters of the district. The Chief Secretary has directed to appoint nodal officers at the tehsil level for quick resolution of the problems of freedom fighters and to provide their names and mobile numbers to the government immediately. She also directed to honour freedom fighters in government programmes on various occasions.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi held a meeting with freedom fighters and their successors in the Secretariat. In the meeting, she inquired about the problems of freedom fighters and directed the concerned officials for quick solution. She appreciated the work of District Magistrate Chamoli in this direction.
The Chief Secretary directed that the cases related to naming of roads, squares and gates and installation of stone plaques in the memory of freedom fighters be resolved on top priority basis. The Chief Secretary directed the concerned officers to take immediate action in relation to various cases of successors of freedom fighters. Secretaries of all concerned departments, District Magistrates of all districts and freedom fighters and their successors were present in the meeting through virtual medium.
