DGP held a meeting regarding law and order during Muharram, gave guidelines

Ranchi, July 15 (HS). Director General of Police Ajay Kumar Singh held a review meeting on Monday at the Police Headquarters in view of the law and order situation in the state on Muharram. During this, the DGP gave several guidelines to the officers. In the meeting held through video conferencing, the DGP discussed the deployment of additional police force in all the sensitive districts of the state on Muharram. He gave instructions to be extra vigilant in those districts where communal incidents have occurred in the past.

The DGP has directed the SSP and SP of all districts to keep a strict vigil on social media so that anti-social elements cannot spread rumours. If any kind of rumour spreads, ensure to verify it immediately and take necessary action. Organise local peace committee meetings in all police stations and on receiving any information about any fake or misleading news, immediately inform the district administration and your nearest police station so that necessary action can be taken by taking cognizance of it.

In the peace committee meetings held in police stations, instructions were given to exercise extra caution at those places where communal incidents have occurred in previous years. He also directed for speedy disposal of pending cases in all the districts. Stress was laid upon monitoring the sensitive areas through photography and videography and drones. The DGP gave instructions to take out the Moharram procession only on the pre-decided route. Instructions were given to keep constant vigil on the religious places and squares falling on the route and to do physical verification of the procession route with mutual coordination.

ADG Sanjay Anand Rao Lathkar, IG Amol Vinukant Homkar, IG Prabhat Kumar, SP Amit Renu, SP Momol Raj Purohit and others were present in the meeting.
