Varanasi, July 30 (HS). A huge crowd of devotees gathered at the court on Tuesday to get a glimpse of the annual snow decoration and tableau of Baba Kaal Bhairav, the Kotwal of Kashi. The devotees queued up and attended the court. After having the darshan of Baba, the devotees prayed for a happy life.
Before this, under the leadership of temple priest and sevak Pawan Upadhyay, Baba's idol was bathed with Panchamrit in the morning, after which vermilion and oil were applied and a chola was offered. Baba was decorated with various fragrant flowers. After Mangala Aarti, the doors of the temple were opened for the general devotees. There was a continuous stream of devotees for Baba's darshan since morning. During this, artisans from Kolkata decorated the entire temple along with Baba's sanctum sanctorum with Indian and foreign flowers and 101 ice blocks in a grand manner. After this, the idol was decorated with fifty-six bhogs and one hundred and eight bottles of Mahaprasad, ganja, bhang dhatura and silver ornaments.
Pawan Upadhyay told that every year in the month of Saavan, Baba is decorated with snow. Just by seeing this form of Baba, the sins of all the lives of a person are destroyed. In the evening, Bhajans were presented in the court by the artists.
