Devotees prayed for happiness and prosperity by praising Mata Mahagauri

Kanpur, 16 April (HS). On Tuesday, the Ashtami day of Chaitra Navratri, devotees worshiped Goddess Mahagauri with devotion at Devi temples and homes. By praising Mother Mahagauri, the devotees of the goddess prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the family. Various rituals continued in homes from morning till evening. Kanya Bhoj was organized in various places. The devotees reached the goddess's court with joy and offered flags and coconuts.

Devotees paid obeisance to the Mother Goddess by worshiping at the famous goddess temples of the city, especially Tapeshwari Devi, Jangli Devi, Kali Badi, Vaishno Devi, Asha Devi, Barah Devi, Buddha Devi, Kali Mathiya and other goddess temples. Devotees worshiped in the Devi temples and kept singing praises of the Mother Goddess. There were also programs of bhajans for the Mother Goddess in many temples, in which the atmosphere was devotional with the songs of the Goddess.

This time there were many special yogas in Navratri. On Maha Ashtami, devotees worshiped the eighth form of Mother Goddess. This time public programs are being organized with more enthusiasm. On Ram Navami, devotees will also break the fast after Kanya Bhoj. The eighth form of Shakti is known as Mata Mahagauri.

Acharya Ramautar Pandey told that worshiping Mata Mahagauri protects the marriage of married women. Mother Mahagauri had performed rigorous penance to attain Lord Shiva and Shiva was pleased and accepted her. Mother's complexion is considered perfect, her clothes and jewelery are all white. Meditation of Mother Gauri is considered most beneficial. Devotees who reached places like Tapeshwari Devi, Jangli Devi, Kali Badi, Vaishno Devi, Asha Devi, Barah Devi, Buddha Devi etc. offered Prasad and also consumed it.
