Development of qualities only through Upanayana Sanskar: Prof. Pradeep Goswami

Varanasi, 29 October (Hindustan Reporter). On Tuesday, on the occasion of Dhanteras, the disciple Upanayana Sanskar was performed after the worship of Lord Dhanvantari at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Ayurveda, Banaras Hindu University. The ninth National Ayurveda Day was also celebrated with enthusiasm on the festival. On this occasion, Faculty Head Prof. Pradeep Kumar Goswami started the program by ritually worshiping Lord Dhanvantari located in Dhanvantari Bhawan. While presiding over the program, the Faculty Head said that qualities are developed only through Upanayana Sanskar. And only through rituals we can use Ayurvedic properties for public welfare. The Faculty Head also told the purpose and importance of National Ayurveda Day. Padmashree Professor Manoranjan Sahu, former head of the faculty, who was the keynote speaker in the program, stressed the need to use the principles of Ayurveda for the benefit of the patients. Chief Guest Vice Chancellor, Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarnath Prof. Wangchuk Dorji Negi said that Buddhahood is in the seed form in every person, which needs to be manifested. He inspired the students and professors to follow purity in conduct. In the program, Director of BHU Institute of Medical Sciences, Prof. Satya Narayan Shankhwar also explained the importance of Ayurveda.

Faculty Head Prof. Pradeep Kumar Goswami along with the heads of all the departments performed the Upanayana ceremony of all the students of newly admitted BAMS, B.Pharma, M.Pharma, M.D., M.S., Diploma and Certificate courses. On this occasion, a book compiled from the anesthesia department was also released. During the National Ayurveda Day week, various programs like women's health empowerment, shloka recitation, debate, quiz competition, plantation, street play, wellness awareness in schools, cyber security and entrepreneurship in Ayurveda were organized in the faculty.
