Bhilai, September 11 (HS). ACB today on Wednesday took action against bribery in Bhilai and arrested Deputy Director (Audit) and Assistant Auditor while taking bribe from a retired employee.
According to the information, the victim Devvrat Devangan, who was posted as the corporation secretary in the Municipal Corporation Risali, Bhilai, had lodged a complaint with the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Raipur that even after his retirement, his salary fixation and verification is pending, due to which he is not getting his pension and other dues. In this regard, when he contacted the Deputy Director Dinesh Kumar and Assistant Auditor Homan Kumar of the State Audit Office, Durg, they demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 in exchange for verification. After this, the victim refused to give the bribe and made a plan to get the accused caught while taking the bribe.
Following a complaint by former corporation secretary Devvrat Dewangan, the ACB today caught deputy director Dinesh Kumar and assistant auditor Homan Kumar red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 6,000. Action is now being taken against the accused in the case.
