Ranchi, April 27 (Hindustan Reporter) Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha held a meeting with the central team on Saturday for the prevention of bird flu. After the confirmation of H5N1 avian influenza in the samples of poultry of the regional poultry farm located at Hotwar, culling of the remaining poultry within a radius of one to ten kilometers of the affected area, disposal through scientific method and complete disinfection of the infected area through scientific method. Discussions were held regarding the work.

The Deputy Commissioner said that under the action plan to prevent the spread of bird flu by the district administration, the rapid response team formed by the district administration has carried out scientific disposal of poultry within a radius of one to ten kilometers of the infected area and disposal of the infected area. Cleaning and disinfection work is being done. Also, the team is checking the availability of chickens, eggs etc. in chicken, egg shops and surrounding areas within a radius of one kilometer of the infected area. Necessary action is being taken to prevent the spread of bird flu. Besides, people are also being made aware through various mediums.

The Central Team expressed satisfaction over the work being done to prevent bird flu. It is noteworthy that during the examination of poultry of the regional poultry farm located at Hotwar, Ranchi, H5N1 avian influenza has been confirmed. Since then, as a precautionary measure, there is a ban on the purchase, sale and transportation of any live, dead poultry, poultry products and eggs within a radius of one kilometer from the Regional Poultry Farm till further orders.
