Deputy commissioner discussed preparations for International Yoga Day in Doda

Jammu, June 7 (HS). The preparations for celebrating International Yoga Day were reviewed by Doda Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh in a meeting held at the Mini Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex. The upcoming event will be celebrated on June 21 at Gatha Resort Park in Bhaderwah. The official theme of International Yoga Day 2024 is “Yoga for Women Empowerment”. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of making the Yoga Day celebrations a success. He directed all departments to ensure full preparations, including adequate facilities, safety measures and medical assistance for the participants on the day of the event.

He also stressed the need for wide publicity to encourage maximum participation from schools and public. Further arrangements discussed included setting up a dedicated area for yoga practice, ensuring availability of drinking water and organising a cultural programme to highlight the benefits of yoga. CPO Manesh Kumar, District Programme Officer ICDS Paramjeet Singh and other officers of police and civil administration were also present in the meeting.
