In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner gave many necessary guidelines to run an intensive awareness campaign for the prevention of sickle cell anemia and to the officials from various departments for the prevention and management of sickle cell anemia.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all the concerned officers to run an awareness campaign for the prevention of sickle cell anemia. He formed a committee at the block level and directed to conduct screening and meetings every month under the chairmanship of the Block Development Officer. So that children and people suffering from sickle cell anemia can be identified. An association is to be formed for the prevention and management of sickle cell anemia, in which instructions were given to nominate the doctor from RIMS. Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar, Civil Surgeon, District Social Welfare Officer, District Program Manager, District Education Superintendent and other officials were present in the meeting.
