In this context, on Friday, District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Madhavi Mishra and Senior Superintendent of Police Hrideep P Janardanan conducted a surprise inspection of the Inter State Check Post located at Maithon. During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner directed the magistrate, police officer and security personnel deputed at the check post to thoroughly check all the vehicles entering the district and to enter the vehicle's registration number and owner's name, address and mobile number in the register. .
Besides, instructions were given to seize large quantities of cash, liquor, jewellery, intoxicants and other materials used to lure voters. The Senior Superintendent of Police directed to conduct surprise checks on small vehicles as well as big vehicles.
