Hazaribagh, July 13 (HS). In view of the Muharram festival, a meeting of the district level peace committee was held on Saturday in the local Nagar Bhawan auditorium under the joint chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay and Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar Singh. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that people of all religions are symbols of mutual unity and brotherhood. He appealed to celebrate the Muharram festival in an atmosphere of mutual harmony.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the festival should be celebrated according to the guidelines issued by the local administration and provocative songs that spoil harmony should be prohibited. He also said that on the occasion of the festival, people should pray peacefully in all the mosques and Imambaras of the district. He directed to activate the necessary preparations to maintain law and order at the fair to be held at Chhadwa Dam. He also instructed to keep the number of women security personnel high from the security point of view and to get the procession photographed. He directed to share information about the guidelines of the administration with everyone by holding a meeting of the peace committee at the zonal level. The Deputy Commissioner directed all the concerned magistrates to remain in alert mode during deputation after the joint order to be issued at the district level regarding the Muharram festival.

The Superintendent of Police appealed not to play provocative songs and not to post any kind of misleading news on social media during Muharram festival. He told that cyber police station has been activated to monitor social media. He told to not use inflammable substances, take out procession on the fixed route and time, maintain mutual brotherhood and harmony with all communities and provide any kind of unpleasant information to the district administration.

During this, he asked the general public to cooperate with the district administration and police administration in maintaining peace in the district. He said that the district control room is working 24×7 for information and security of any kind of incident.

On this occasion, Additional Collector Santosh Kumar Singh, Sadar SDO Shailesh Kumar, SDO Barhi Jogan Tudu, SDPO Shivashish Kumar, Trainee IAS Lokesh Barange and BDOs and COs of all blocks and a large number of people from the Muslim community were present.
