Dharamshala, 12 November (Hindustan Reporter). Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania said that the former BJP government enjoyed power for five years and the money of the people of the state was misused. While addressing a press conference in Dharamshala on Tuesday, Pathania fiercely attacked the former BJP government. He said that during the tenure of the previous government, Rs 19 crore was embezzled in the investor meet held in Dharamshala.
Asking a question to former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, he said that he should answer the people of the state on what benefits the state got from the Eventer Meet. He said that even the fare for State Road Transport Corporation buses was not paid. The Finance Commission had promised Rs 1000 crore for Mandi Airport, Rs 400 crore for the expansion of Kangra Airport and Rs 20 crore for Shaktipeeth Jwalamukhi Temple, but this amount was also not released. Till date the state has not received a total of Rs 1420 crore from the Finance Commission.
He said that Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has come to power not to enjoy the pleasures of power but to change the system. During the Covid period, while on one hand the whole world was struggling with the pandemic, on the other hand BJP leaders committed scams and the party president even had to resign from his post. Similarly, question papers of examinations were sold by playing with the future of the youth.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Himachal Pradesh will become self-reliant by 2027 and the most prosperous state of the country by 2032. Despite financial constraints, the state government has fulfilled five out of 10 guarantees.
