Deputy Chief Minister gave a gift worth several crores to the people of Kullu

Kullu, 14 October (HIST). Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, during his stay in Kullu today, inaugurated various projects of Jal Shakti Department in Suma, the total cost of which is about Rs 18 crore 20 lakh. He inaugurated Lift Drinking Water Scheme of Pej Phati constructed at a cost of about Rs 16 crore 70 lakh, which will provide drinking water to about 8050 people of villages of Phati, Pej, and Bhumtir.

Along with this, another lift drinking water scheme was inaugurated at a cost of Rs 1 crore 50 lakh, which will benefit about 3000 population of Suma, Chhurla, Dharbagh, and Bhaltha villages of Gram Panchayat Dugilag. This will provide relief from water problems in remote areas.

On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said in the public meeting organized in Suma that 708 drinking water schemes have been completed by the department in Kullu and work on 111 is going on. 89 irrigation schemes have been completed and work on 49 schemes is ongoing. 29 flood control schemes have been completed and work on 7 schemes is going on. 4 sewage disposal schemes have been completed and work on 5 schemes is in progress. He announced the release of Rs 3 crore for the ongoing schemes of Jal Shakti Department of Kullu region.

Addressing the public, the Deputy Chief Minister said that approval for 38 drinking water schemes worth Rs 187 crore has been received from NABARD in Kullu, out of which 5 schemes have been completed and work on 33 is in progress. A total of Rs 38 crore is being spent on various drinking water, irrigation, and sewage schemes in Kullu district this year 2024-25.

Apart from this, 24 schemes have been approved in Kullu district this year under flood control, on which a total of Rs 158 crore is being spent. Under this, channelization will be done along the banks of river Vyas, out of which Rs 68 crore will be spent in Kullu assembly constituency. A 24-hour drinking water supply scheme has also been approved for Bhuntar town, on which Rs 22 crore will be spent.

In the program, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sundar Singh Thakur addressed the public while expressing his gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister. Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister flagged off two road transport buses from Kullu Bhutti Chowk after offering ceremonial prayers. On this occasion, he traveled about three kilometers in a bus from Kullu to Bui via Bagan.
