Lucknow, 30 August (HS). Important guidelines have been issued in the health department of UP regarding the inhuman incident with the female doctor in Kolkata. Under the order of the Supreme Court, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has also given instructions to the hospital management. The Deputy CM says that the safety of the hospital staff is our top priority.

Under the instructions, he said that usually such people are seen in hospitals who do not have any patient admitted in the hospital, they stay in the hospital only for night rest. Action should be taken against such people. Entry passes should be issued to attendants for night entry in wards, ICU, resting room, emergency ward, IPD department.

He said that during night duty, women doctors and staff nurses have to visit other blocks and wards to see patients. Security arrangements should be strengthened for their movement. Proper lighting should be done in the hospital premises, residential area and hostel at night so that no antisocial element can take advantage of the darkness and enter. Surprise inspections should be done by security officers for security in the hospital premises at night. Attendants sleeping in the hospital premises at night should also be questioned from time to time.

Activate the control room

Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak has instructed that the control room should be made functional for 24-hour security in the hospital premises. Necessary security personnel should be deployed in the control room. Retired army personnel should be recruited to increase the security of the hospital premises. Coordination and regular communication should be established for the police station nearest to the hospital.

Internal sexual harassment committee will be formed

The Deputy Chief Minister said that under all legal provisions, an internal sexual harassment committee should be formed for women doctors and women staff in the hospital. The CCTV cameras installed in the hospital premises should be checked from time to time. The number of cameras should be sufficient and all should be functional. Police verification of contract and outsourcing staff in the hospital must be done.

Get an institutional FIR registered

He said that if violence takes place against a doctor or medical staff in the hospital premises, an FIR will be lodged by the hospital in-charge or a person authorized by him. This will be called an institutional FIR. Its reporting will be done by the hospital and not by the affected person.
