Department will organize 50th Alauddin Khan celebrations at global level: Culture Minister Lodhi

Satna, March 7 (Hindustan Reporter) The famous Baba Ustad Alauddin Khan ceremony, held every year in Maihar, the city of Mother Sharda, started late on Thursday evening with the orchestra playing the musical instrument Nal Tarang made by Baba. The ceremony was inaugurated by Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Dharmendra Singh Lodhi by lighting the lamp in front of the portrait of Baba Ustad Alauddin Khan and his son Akbar Ali Khan. On this occasion, Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department Lakhan Patel, MP Ganesh Singh, MLA Shrikant Chaturvedi, Collector Rani Batad, Superintendent of Police Sudhir Aggarwal, Santosh Soni, Kamlesh Suhane, Ramesh Pandey, Bam Bam Maharaj were also present.

At the inauguration of the three-day 49th Ustad Alauddin Khan Samaroh in Maihar, Minister of State Dharmendra Lodhi said that the Culture Department will organize the half-centenary celebrations of the 50th Ustad Alauddin Khan Samaroh to be organized next year in a global form. Whose echo will be worldwide in the music world.

He said that in Hindustani classical music, Baba Alauddin Khan of Maihar was such an artist of the 20th century who gave new heights to Indian classical music. Following the path of music prepared by him, the disciples reached new heights. It is the good fortune of our Madhya Pradesh that under the patronage of Mother Sharda, Baba Alauddin Khan made Maihar a place of meditation.

He said that Baba Alauddin Khan was indeed a musician and a musician with extraordinary talent. He perfectly fulfilled the Guru-Shishya tradition, the essence of Indian tradition. As a result, we got great musicians like Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar, Padma Vibhushan Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Hariprakash Chaurasia, Pannalal Ghosh and BG Jog. Culture Minister Lodhi said that efforts will be made to construct Maa Sharda Lok in Maihar and establish a Music University on the demand of the local people.

The program was also addressed by MP Ganesh Singh and MLA Shrikant Chaturvedi. Before this, all the guests went to Madina Bhawan and paid homage to the tomb of Baba Ustad Alauddin Khan by performing the Chadar Poshi ceremony. The three-day Ustad Alauddin Khan festival started with the playing of the Maihar musical group. After this, Kathak dance by Sonia Parchure and fellow artists of Mumbai, singing by Gautam Kale of Indore, Mohan Veena by Ajay P. Jha of Ghaziabad, Jugalbandi of Sitar-Sarod by Kedia Bandhu of Giridih were given.
