Deoghar: Notorious criminal Baba Parihast alias Jitendra Parihast, lodged in Deoghar Central Jail, died in the early hours of Thursday under suspicious circumstances.
In this regard, Deoghar Central Jail Superintendent Satyendra Chaudhary said that Baba's health suddenly deteriorated at around 3 am on Thursday. He vomited once. He was immediately sent to Sadar Hospital with the help of jail staff and security forces, where the doctor declared him dead. After this, this information was also sent to Baidyanathdham OP.
It is said that a party of Baba Parihast gang was going on in Deoghar jail on Wednesday night. Liquor was also being consumed in the party. It was during the party that notorious Baba Parihast's health deteriorated and he collapsed there. After preliminary investigation, the jail administration took him to Sadar Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead. Whether the infamous Baba Parishast died of a heart attack or by poisoning liquor during a party will be revealed only after the post mortem report comes.
It is noteworthy that Deoghar Police had arrested Baba Parihast, a well-known gangster and resident of Baidyanath Lane of Nagar police station area, along with his two associates, a well-known accused in many serious crime cases including murder, extortion and Arms Act. Criminal cases are registered against him in many police stations of the district. Baba Parihast used to take possession of the land by force of arms. He also used to collect extortion money.
