DEO Kathua reviews poll preparations for Bani assembly constituency | News India

Kathua, September 25 (HS). District Election Officer Kathua Dr. Rakesh Minhas chaired an important meeting with Sector Officers and Sector Police Officers in the office of Returning Officer of Bani Assembly Constituency to review the preparations for the upcoming election.

During the meeting it was decided that polling parties have been deployed at 94 polling stations under Bani Assembly Constituency. 33 in Lohai Malhar and 61 in Bani will be attached at Government Degree College Kathua. These teams will be sent for polling on September 29, 2024 and are expected to reach their respective locations in Bani and Lohai Malhar by evening of the same day. The DEO directed the Returning Officer Bani to ensure proper accommodation and boarding arrangements for the polling parties assigned to Bani. Similarly RO Billawar will look after the accommodation and boarding for those assigned to Lohai Malhar. As decided, polling parties will be deployed for 61 stations in Bani and 33 stations in Lohai Malhar on September 30 to conduct polling, which is scheduled on October 1, 2024.

After the polling the Electronic Voting Machines will be returned and deposited in GDC Bani and GDC Billawar. Next day all the EVMs will be taken to GDC Kathua for counting of votes. Dr Minhas stressed on the important role of Sector Officers and Sector Police Officers and reminded them of their responsibilities at their respective polling stations. He said the DEO also addressed the concerns and queries raised by the Sector Officers and Sector Police Officers, ensuring clarity on all aspects of the polling process. Returning Officer of Bani Assembly Constituency Giaasul Haque and Assistant Returning Officer Pradyum Atri were also present in the meeting.
