Shimla, 25 November (HS). In Himachal Pradesh, there is bright sunshine in the mountains amid dry weather on Monday. At the same time, mist and fog in the plain areas have increased the problems of the people. The nights have become very cold due to continuous drop in minimum temperature. The mercury has gone well below zero in the tribal areas. The minimum temperature was recorded in minus in many localities of Lahaul-Spiti district on Monday.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry in the state for the next few days. The Meteorological Department has said in the forecast that there is a possibility of dense fog in the plains from 26 to 29 November. Yellow alert has been issued due to dense fog at some places, especially in Mandi and Bilaspur districts. There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the central and high mountain areas on November 30. The weather will be clear in the entire state on December 1st. According to the department, there are chances of severe cold at night in the coming days.
Mercury in minus in four cities of Lahaul-Spiti
The night temperature in many cities of the state is continuously falling. According to the Meteorological Department report, the average minimum temperature of the state has fallen by 0.5 degrees in the last 24 hours. On Monday, the average minimum temperature of the state was recorded 0.2 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature in four cities of Lahaul Spiti district remained below zero on Monday. The minimum temperatures in Tabo, Kukumseri, Keylong and Samdho were recorded at -8 degrees, -7.1 degrees, -4.2 degrees and -1.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
Apart from this, the mercury in some cities remained close to zero. The mercury in Kalpa, Narkanda, Manali, Seobag and Reckong Peo was recorded at 0.6, 2.6, 2.9, 3 and 3.3 degrees Celsius respectively.
Talking about other major cities, the minimum temperature was 9 degrees in Shimla, 5.5 in Sundernagar, 3.5 in Bhuntar, 10 in Dharamshala, 6.2 in Una, 7 in Palampur, 4.6 in Solan, 7.2 in Kangra, 6.5 in Mandi, 7.5 in Bilaspur, 7 in Hamirpur, 6.8 in Chamba, 7.8 in Dalhousie, 9 degree Celsius was recorded in Jubbarhatti, 4.5 in Kufri and 4.9 degree Celsius in Bharmour.
