In such weather, people are at great risk of suffering from dengue and chikungunya. To make people aware about it, May 16 has been celebrated as National Dengue Day by the Health Department, during which people are made aware about the causes of dengue, its symptoms as well as the facilities available for its treatment in the hospital. is done. On National Dengue Day, an awareness campaign was conducted by health officials and personnel among the patients available in all the hospitals of the district as well as in the nearby schools.
District Vector Borne Disease Control Officer Dr. Under the chairmanship of Manjar Alam, school students of the district were made aware about protection from dengue. During this, children were given information about spraying insecticides on accumulated water and dirt while maintaining cleanliness around the house to stay safe from dengue or chikungunya in the changing seasons.
He told that during the rainy season, people should use clothes that cover the entire body to stay safe from mosquitoes. All the rooms in the house should be kept clean and ventilated. Do not allow water to accumulate in broken utensils, coolers, ACs, drain trays of refrigerators, water tanks and inside and around the house. The water stored in pots, vases etc. should be changed every other day. If there is a pond or tube near the house, then kerosene oil should be poured on the frozen water regularly.
