Meerut, 06 March (HS). On Wednesday, supporters demonstrated at the Commissionerate demanding the release of jailed Asaram. He submitted a memorandum addressed to the President to the administrative officials and demanded to be released for treatment as he was seriously ill.
According to Sri Yoga Vedanta Seva Samiti spokesperson Sujit Bhai, the health condition of 86-year-old Asharam, kept in Jodhpur jail, is critical. Before going to jail, at the age of 74, he was suffering from trigeminal neuralgia and back pain despite leading a busy lifestyle. Due to being in jail for 11 and a half years, at the age of 86, he has been affected by diseases like heart disease, prostate enlargement, arthritis, anemia etc. By submitting a memorandum addressed to the President to the administrative officials, the supporters demanded the release of Asaram for treatment. Supporters said that Asaram's condition is continuously deteriorating. In such circumstances, he should be released on parole. During this, workers of Shri Yoga Vedanta Seva Samiti, Nari Sangathan and many other organizations were present.
