Ajmer, 2 September (HS). On Monday, demanding the safety and security of sisters and daughters across the country, more than 2500 girl students of Sophia School in Ajmer, men and women gathered through several NGOs, took out a rally till the Collectorate and handed over a memorandum to District Collector Dr. Bharti Dixit and Superintendent of Police. In the rally, the girls were carrying placards in their hands. Many girls were raising slogans with their fists clenched. The girls protested through a street play in the Collectorate and gave a memorandum in the name of the President to the Collector.
Through a memorandum, women and girls have demanded immediate action and security in the cases of increasing crime against women and girls in the country. On Monday, under the leadership of Sophia Girls College, students and organizations from various schools started a rally from the college campus. The rally reached the Collectorate via various routes and protested. During this, the girl students raised slogans for providing security to women including We Want Justice. Students protested by carrying banners and posters.
Sophia College Principal Dr. Sister Pal said that crimes against women and atrocities are increasing continuously in the country, state and district, which is extremely worrying. Crimes against women include physical, mental and social exploitation. Which not only affects our lives but also challenges the values of our society. For the last 25 years, crimes like domestic violence, sexual harassment and rape, torture, acid attack against women have increased. This rally has been organized today to protest against this. Various demands have been made to the President through the protest, including expediting the investigation of crimes against women and giving strict punishment to the culprits.
The students protested and said that we are not safe in this country, we should also be protected in this country. Crimes against women are increasing day by day, but they are not exposed. Recently a rape incident was committed in Kolkata but the accused has not been punished yet. The students protested through a street play in front of Collector Bharti Dixit and SP Devendra Bishnoi and other officials in the Collectorate campus.
