Fatehabad, July 4 (HS). Employees associated with the Contracted Electricity Employees Union Haryana affiliated to the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh staged a protest against the state government in Fatehabad on Thursday. The employees raised slogans against the government and submitted a memorandum of their demands to the Deputy Commissioner.
Under the chairmanship of the district head of the union, Rajesh Kumar, the employees demonstrated for their demands. After this, a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister through the Superintendent Engineer of the Electricity Department and the District Deputy Commissioner. On this occasion, State Media Incharge Vikas Dhillon said that today the entire burden of the electricity department is on the shoulders of the contract employees. Dozens of contract employees have lost their lives in the entire state so far while running the electricity service even during floods, Corona period, severe heat and winter in the state. Such contract employees get very low salary and nominal facilities from the government and the department, due to which there is a lot of anger in the organization. He demanded that the government should make a regular policy for the employees and include all the employees of the electricity department in it. Along with this, apart from cashless medical policy, risk allowance, gratuity, LTC and bonus, the employees working in Kheda, Yamunanagar Dharamal, regarding whom the agreement which was made with the management on June 12, 2023, should be implemented.
While conducting the program, the district secretary of the union, Bajindra Madal, said that if the government does not fulfill the demands in time, the organization will intensify the movement. He said that from 5 to 15 July, memorandums will be submitted to all the MLAs, MPs, ministers in the state. After this, the organization will protest at the Chief Minister's residence in Karnal on 29 July and an indefinite dharna will be started there.
