Kolkata, June 24 (HS). West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to abolish NEET and consider a system of conducting the exam by the states in the wake of the paper leak controversy. In a letter to PM Modi, Banerjee has also called for strict action against those involved in the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam.
Addressing the Prime Minister in her letter, Mamata Banerjee wrote, “I strongly urge you to consider taking immediate steps to restore the previous system of conducting this examination by the state governments and abolish the NEET exam.”
“This will help restore normalcy and instill the confidence of aspiring students in the system,” Mamata wrote.
It is noteworthy that there is uproar in the whole country over the rigging in NEET exam. Students are continuously protesting which is increasing. Hindustan News / Om Prakash / Ganga
