India’s experienced cricketer Virat Kohli could not perform as expected in the recently concluded five-match Test series against Australia. He definitely scored a century in the beginning of the series, but after that he kept losing wickets on balls going outside the off stump. During this period, Kohli also remained in the headlines due to his antics, especially in the case of pushing young Australian batsman Sam Constas in the fourth test. ICC also fined him for this.
Former England fast bowler Steve Harmison believes that Kohli should have been banned for misbehaving with Sam. Harmison said, “What happened to Kohli was unfair. He should have been banned. “I love Kohli so much and appreciate what he has done for the game, but there is a line, and it should not be crossed.”
Kohli caused controversy by deliberately colliding with Constas during the fourth Test in Melbourne, which led to him being fined 20 per cent of his match fee and facing booing from Australian fans. Constas made his Test debut at the MCG on 26 December, scoring an impressive 60 runs off 65 balls. In this series, he also targeted India’s leading fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.
