Hisar, 25 November (Hissar). Purvanchal Jan Kalyan Sangathan Committee has given a memorandum to MP Jaiprakash demanding to extend many long distance trains from Hisar to Hisar to Jagannath Puri, Gayaji, Patna, Ayodhya, Vaidyanath Dham, Samastipur, Madhubani, Sitamarhi etc. Committee head Vinod Sahni, Treasurer Acharya Shivpujan Mishra, Joint Secretary Ravindra Singh, Mukhtar Giri etc. were among those who gave the memorandum.

Purvanchal Jan Kalyan Sangathan Committee has said in the memorandum given on Monday that lakhs of people of Purvanchal community live in Hisar district and its surrounding areas. These people and the common people have to face huge difficulties in traveling to pilgrimage places and to their home districts. Purushottam Express which runs from New Delhi to Jagannath Puri should be extended up to Hisar. Mahabodhi Express should be extended to Hisar instead of New Delhi to Gayaji. Similarly, Kaifiyat Express which goes from Delhi to Azamgarh via Ayodhya, should be sent to Hisar station.

Bihar Sampark Kranti should be extended to Hisar instead of New Delhi-Patna, Vikramshila Express which runs from New Delhi-Bhagalpur, Shramjeev Express which runs from New Delhi-Patna should be extended up to Hisar Railway Station. The committee says that all these trains remain standing at New and Old Delhi Railway Station for 8 to 12 hours. If all these trains are extended to Hisar, then while the people of Purvanchal will benefit, the Railway Department will also get additional revenue of lakhs of rupees.

MP Jaiprakash assured the members of Purvanchal Committee that during the Parliament session starting from today, he will raise this problem with the Railway Minister and will make a strong demand for running long distance trains. He assured the committee members that during the closing ceremony of Chhath Puja, he had announced to give two lakh fifty one thousand rupees to the committee, the said amount will be made available in the month of April in the new year.
